Ivory Coast has a new Prime Minister, Charles Konan Banny, former president of the BCEAO (Banque Centrale des Etats de l'Afrique de l'Ouest) and member of PDCI, the Party of the former President Bedier, today in the opposition. The name was proposed by mediators from the Africa Union, Olusegun Obasanjo (Nigeria) et Thabo Mbecki (South Africa).
All the Ivorian press welcome this nomination. Aqwaba Banny!
I hope it will be a first step towards the disarmament of rebels and free and fair elections in Ivory Coast.
