Huge demonstrations in France today against the "employment" policy of the government

Today more than one million of peoples demonstrated against the government. 150000 people in Paris (where i was), 100000 in Marseille, but also 30000 in Nantes or Bordeaux. All the trade unions called for this day of action with demonstrations all over France and strikes in a lot of sectors.

The main point was the denunciation of a law voted during the summer allowing a new kind of labour contract (the so-called "Contrat Nouvelle Embauche") which allow the managers to kick out an employee without giving any reasons during two years. This kind of contract, without improving the situation of the employment, will increase the precarity and create more "social insecurity". Moreover, the law was adopted without parliamentary debates (with a special procedure) and without any kind of negotiation with the trade unions.

The employment policy of the Right has shown its efficiency. More unemployment during the three years of the government, more precarity and worsen working conditions for the workers.

The Left has to propose new ways to get out of the situation with, for example, the idea of a "Professional Social Security", which allow a high level of protection and training of the workers during the transitional period between two works.
