SPD + greens + Linke : 304 seats.
SPD clearly rejects the possibility to do a coalition together with Die Linke Party. Die Linke also refuses to do a coalition with SPD. Nevertheless, the Left has the majority (50% of the votes) and a LEFT Coalition (SPD-Greens-Linke) is theoretically possible. The right wing (CDU-CSU-FDP) is in minority!

Does SPD say something about a coalition with greens ?
Merkel said CDU has to form a government.
SPD clearly rejects the idea of a coalition with the Left Party. The Left Party also refuses to work with SPD.
SPD says that, except with the Left Party, all the coalitions are possible (greens, fdp,.. CDU?)
I agree that a coalition bw SPD and CDU is a bad idea. The situation now is very interesting, with only a mandate or two separating SPD and CDU. I hope that SPD and the Greens stay in government, and that they either govern in minority (and that they make agreements w Linke and maybe FDP in the Bundestag from time to time), or that the coalition is joined by the FDP (they are saying no so far, though). We will see, but the basic message is clear: the left won a majority, and the German people have rejected a right-wing future for their country!
Eric, I fully agree with you. The first political message is the LEFT (SPD, Greens and Linke) won the majority. Lets see what will happen in the next days. The possibility to have a governement in minority (SPD, Greens) with the support of Linke seems to be a good idea, if both parties continue to reject the idea of a "pink, red, green" coalition.
